Resident Strength and Conditioning Intern
Rydal Penrhos School is a co-educational day and boarding school located in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The school has a rich sporting history having produced many international athletes over the years and current students compete regionally or nationally in girls’ and boys’ hockey, netball, rugby, sailing, table tennis and swimming with many others on NGB performance pathways. For September 2018 we have 2 vacancies for strength and conditioning interns. These positions would be ideal opportunities for someone to gain experience in what is required to become a strength and conditioning coach in a sporting environment. These are voluntary roles, ideal for a graduate from a Coaching, PE, Sport Science or similar degree who would like to take their first step into working within sport or a current student on the above courses looking to fulfill a 3 month work placement. Applicants should possess or be working towards their full UKSCA accreditation. Our internships are entering their 4th year and so far have 100% employment rate upon completion.
There are 2 Strength and Conditioning Internships available. The applicant will develop experience in strength and conditioning and athletic development training across all sports delivered in the school. The successful applicant will shadow the Head of Athletic Development, Director of Sport and PE teachers to gain experience across a range of sports. The Head of Athletic Development and Director of Sport will provide extensive CPD throughout the internship and the position will run until the end of the Autumn Term or longer should successful applicants wish to continue in the role. As this is a residential role accommodation and meals are provided for the duration of the internship.
